Helsing is a defence AI company on a mission to protect democracies through technological leadership in AI. This role is a critical operational bridge between Helsing's Munich headquarters and rapidly scaling US operations.
As Liaison Manager / US Desk Officer, you serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for all US-Germany operational coordination. You are not a strategist but a pragmatic, hands-on operator who drives resolution across multiple departments while maintaining strict compliance with bilateral governance structures and export control regulations (ITAR/EAR, FOCI).
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the primary operational hub and SPOC for the US team, routing requests to appropriate experts and driving them to completion
- Bridging operational gaps between US teams and German departments across engineering, AI, programme management, and other functions
- Enabling rapid scaling and knowledge transfer as the US entity grows its team and operations
- Optimizing the 09:00–15:00 CET daily window to bundle all German inputs and ensure seamless handover to US operations at 15:00 CET
- Safeguarding FOCI and export control compliance, translating complex regulatory requirements into efficient workflows
You bring several years of professional experience in operational coordination, interface management, or business enablement (project management, business operations, legal/compliance liaison, corporate governance, or management consulting). A background in project management or engineering is a strong plus. You have a proven track record operating within complex regulatory frameworks in defence, aerospace, tech, finance, or public sector environments.
You are relentlessly curious, proactive, and driven to build relationships across both offices—you don't wait for information but actively network to get things done. You excel at lateral influence and diplomacy, navigating organizational dynamics without formal authority. You are mission-driven, passionate about protecting democratic values, and thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes deep-tech environments. You have a talent for organizing complexity, tracking deadlines, and communicating technical or regulatory matters clearly and concisely.
Full fluency in English and German (C1 level) is required, both written and spoken.
