Salary: USD 99,200 - 148,800 / annual

As Legal Operations Project Manager, you will modernize Harvey's legal function by combining best-in-class legal operations practices with hands-on AI enablement. You'll be a key contributor to building an AI-native legal operations function within a company defining the future of AI for legal work.
Key responsibilities include: managing end-to-end legal operations projects (intake, matter management, advice requests, policy changes) with full ownership from requirements gathering through implementation and iteration; translating strategic priorities into concrete project plans and timelines; identifying and piloting AI use cases across the legal team, including Harvey's own platform; building and maintaining legal metrics, dashboards, and operational reporting on workload, turnaround times, risk patterns, and performance; evaluating and improving the legal technology stack (matter management, knowledge management, e-billing, document management, contract tools); developing legal knowledge assets including templates, playbooks, FAQs, and self-service resources; and supporting routine operational, administrative, systems, and data work as priorities evolve.
You'll operate as connective tissue between strategy and day-to-day delivery, partnering closely with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders. The role requires comfort with ambiguity, ownership of multiple moving pieces simultaneously, and the ability to create structure in a function still taking shape rather than optimizing established processes.
Required qualifications: 3–6 years in operations or project management with responsibility for running and improving cross-functional systems, processes, or programs (legal operations, business operations, systems operations, or related); meaningful experience working in or closely with an in-house legal team; a builder's mindset and comfort with ownership; experience designing and implementing processes and systems from requirements through rollout; ability to work with both Legal and technical teams; comfort operating with general guidance and balancing competing priorities in a distributed organization; strong analytical and systems-thinking skills; familiarity with legal technology and experience building/interpreting metrics.
Bonus qualifications: hands-on CLM or contracting systems experience; practical experience building or deploying AI-driven workflows with familiarity with agentic behavior, orchestration, prompt engineering, and safety protocols; experience designing AI guidance, guardrails, or adoption programs for legal or professional services teams.
