The product serves thousands of active subscribers who rely on automated deadline calculations to run efficient law practices. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining rule sets by researching and analyzing state, federal, and agency statutes, rules, local rules, and standing orders, then translating these legal requirements into structured triggers, deadlines, and calculation logic for the calendaring software. Additionally, you will conduct rule set audits and peer reviews to ensure legal accuracy, consistency, and compliance with content standards, and develop presentations and written content for newsletters, customer trainings, conferences, and webinars. Key responsibilities include exercising sound legal judgment when translating ambiguous or conflicting procedural authorities into automated logic, making day-to-day decisions on rule set structure within established standards, independently researching and resolving routine customer questions, identifying content gaps and calculation risks, and operating with moderate autonomy while escalating high-impact or novel analyses. Requirements: - Licensed to practice law in the United States - 3+ years of litigation experience - Knowledge of how to find and calculate legal deadlines - Familiarity with the U.S. legal system - Strong legal research and analytical skills to evaluate statutes, procedural rules, local rules, agency rules, and standing orders - Ability to translate complex legal requirements into clear, standardized, structured content for automated litigation calendaring - Proficiency in applying procedural knowledge to draft precise triggers, deadlines, and calculation logic, including service methods, time-computation rules, court holidays, and related requirements - Ability to monitor rule changes across jurisdictions and assess their impact on existing content - Strong writing and editing skills to explain complex procedures to legal and non-legal audiences - Exceptional attention to detail for building, auditing, and peer-reviewing rule sets - Comfort and proficiency with AI and emerging technologies for legal research, analysis, customer support, and workflow efficiency, with ability to independently evaluate outputs and apply legal judgment
