Alan is a prevention-focused health insurance company serving 1M+ members across 40K+ companies, with €800M+ ARR. The company is scaling to 10 countries within five years and building a Corporate team (legal, privacy, governance, risk, compliance, security) to support this growth. You will join as Legal & Compliance Operations, a newly created role within the Corporate team. Your mission is to build the compliance infrastructure and processes that allow Alan to scale regulated work without proportional slowdown. Rather than adding headcount as regulatory load grows, you will design systems, automation, and tooling that absorb complexity. Key responsibilities: - Design and implement systems that give internal teams (product, operations, etc.) a clear, fast path to get what they need from Corporate, reducing friction between regulated work and product velocity. - Rebuild painful processes end-to-end: identify workarounds, redesign for speed and compliance, and continuously improve based on usage. - Build practical automation and AI-enabled workflows using no-code, low-code, and AI tools to remove repetitive work, improve consistency, and support better decision-making. - Anticipate bottlenecks before they constrain growth, designing solutions that maintain both compliance and speed. - Measure impact: set clear goals for adoption, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement on every shipped change. In your first six months, you will ship a first system for internal teams to access Corporate services, own at least one end-to-end process from problem to live automated solution, become a trusted builder for the Corporate team and their stakeholders, and establish a measurement framework for adoption and continuous improvement. You will have close mentorship and structured support from deep legal, privacy, and security expertise within the Corporate team. Roles evolve at Alan, so you will have real opportunities to expand scope across topics and countries as you grow. Requirements: - Demonstrated experience building things people actually use: you have turned manual, repetitive work into automated or self-serve solutions using no-code, low-code, and/or AI tools, either at work or in personal projects. You can explain what you built, why, and how it was used. - Understanding of AI-enabled workflows: familiarity with current AI tools and hands-on experimentation in using them to improve research, decision-making, knowledge work, or operations. Interest in combining AI tools into reliable workflows that solve real problems. - Drawn to regulated work: you want to understand why compliance processes exist and where they create friction. You ramp up fast on new domains. Hands-on experience in legal, compliance, privacy, or security is a plus but not required. - Fluent French and English at professional level. - Builder mindset: operate independently, make progress with incomplete information, prioritize ruthlessly, involve the right experts, and drive projects to useful outcomes without waiting for perfect certainty. - Explorer mindset: curious about vague problems, dig deep to frame them well, stay solution-oriented, escalate early. - Systems thinking: understand how people, processes, tools, data, and controls fit together. - Appetite for regulated complexity: energized by both the complexity and the tooling; try-and-retry, challenger mindset. - Sound judgment: sense where shortcuts would break legal, privacy, security, or compliance requirements; know when to stop and ask. - Project ownership: drive projects end-to-end from user research and planning through delivery and post-launch adoption and improvement. - Clear communication: proactive and clear with stakeholders, show progress, explain reasoning.
