FINN, Germany's leading car subscription platform and one of the few German unicorns in the mobility sector, is seeking a Head of Group Accounting to lead the strategic direction and operational excellence of the accounting function.
In this key role, you will drive the strategic alignment and build out the Group Accounting team significantly. You assume full responsibility for timely and compliant preparation of consolidated financial statements under IFRS, drive continuous improvement of reporting processes and IFRS policies, and act as a strategic sparring partner to the CFO. You will shape financial governance, compliance, and scalability across the FINN Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead consolidated accounting and reporting: Own end-to-end responsibility for timely and accurate monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements (IFRS; currently transitioning from HGB), particularly the notes to the financial statements.
- Scale IFRS framework and policies: Drive strategic development and consistent group-wide implementation of IFRS accounting standards, including complex topics such as IFRS 16 (Leasing) and IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments). Experience with ABS structures is a plus.
- Manage consolidation: Oversee consolidation of reporting across all group entities.
- Manage audit and external stakeholders: Work with international audit firms, regulatory authorities, and external advisors; represent FINN confidently on IFRS audit and accounting matters.
- Drive systems and process transformation: Support implementation and optimization of highly scalable system landscapes to maximize automation in financial reporting.
- Build and lead the team: Structurally build out the Group Accounting team, lead and develop team members professionally and personally, and foster a performance and development culture.
Requirements:
Must have:
- Completed degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance (ideally complemented by a CPA or equivalent auditor qualification).
- Substantial professional experience (8+ years) with a proven track record at a reputable audit firm (Big 4 is a plus) or in Group Accounting / Consolidated Accounting of an international corporation or scale-up.
- Comprehensive expertise and demonstrated proficiency in IFRS accounting, including IFRS 16 and complex financial instruments under IFRS 9.
- Fluent German and English (C1/C2 level) in written and spoken form, with outstanding communication skills.
Nice to have:
- Practical experience building and leading finance teams in dynamic hyper-growth or startup environments.
- Extensive hands-on experience with LucaNet. SAP S/4 HANA experience is a plus.
