Impulse Space is seeking a Lead RF Manufacturing Engineer to lead and scale RF manufacturing operations across all company products destined for orbital deployment. This is a people-management role with direct responsibility for recruiting, developing, and mentoring a team of RF manufacturing engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and lead an RF manufacturing engineering team, providing mentorship and career development
- Own RF manufacturing strategy and execution across all products, ensuring performance and reliability of vehicles sent to orbit
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes for RF circuit boards, antennas, filters, and related components
- Create and refine work instructions for manufacturing, inspection, and acceptance testing
- Establish and enhance acceptance testing (ATP) capabilities, including functional, performance, and environmental testing protocols
- Collaborate with design engineers to optimize manufacturability; provide input during PDR and CDR reviews
- Optimize production rate, yield, and cost of RF hardware while maintaining quality standards
- Support and troubleshoot automated test systems, including reviewing logs, diagnosing failures, and making configuration adjustments
- Ensure timely delivery of RF hardware to integration teams
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in RF manufacturing to drive continuous innovation
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of RF manufacturing experience in high-reliability environments
- 3+ years of people management experience
- Demonstrated commitment to developing and mentoring engineers
- Deep expertise in RF manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience testing RF PCBAs, antennas, filters, and passive components
