Anduril Industries is seeking an R&D Technician Lead to oversee daily operations and team coordination for a group of R&D technicians working on advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities. You will orchestrate work allocation, set daily priorities, and adapt to rapid changes in a fast-paced R&D environment. The position is deeply hands-on: you'll actively participate in building, troubleshooting, and assembling complex electromechanical AUV systems while maintaining rigorous safety standards. Key responsibilities include: - Managing and training R&D technician staff, ensuring proper task allocation and on-time delivery - Building, integrating, and testing complex electro-mechanical assemblies for world-class AUVs - Serving as the primary technical liaison between R&D technicians and engineering teams, providing critical feedback and progress updates - Coordinating with production stakeholders to navigate evolving requirements and resolve roadblocks - Applying expertise in hand tools, assembly tooling, manufacturing equipment, and electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems) - Building and troubleshooting cables, wiring harnesses, and connectors; reading electrical schematics - Contributing across the full product development lifecycle from NPI through scaled production - Participating in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives - Managing multiple priorities in a high-urgency environment Required qualifications include 7+ years of electronics experience in R&D, proficiency with soldering and crimping, understanding of LEAN manufacturing and product lifecycle management, familiarity with electronics test equipment and electrical schematics, and eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance. Preferred experience includes machining, sheet metal fabrication, 3D printing, and hoisting equipment operation.
