Scopely, a leading video game and interactive entertainment company, is seeking a QA Lead to join the Royal Lounge Casino team in Bangalore on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on owning end-to-end quality strategy for a cluster, ensuring high-confidence releases and strong player experience across all pods.
Key responsibilities include building, leading, and scaling a high-performing QA team through hiring, mentoring, and driving performance excellence. You will demonstrate excellence in team management, task management, and cross-pod coordination, ensuring optimal planning, prioritization, and execution across multiple workstreams. The role requires defining and driving test strategy, coverage, and risk-based validation approaches across features, content, and technical initiatives.
You will champion a shift-left approach, actively contributing during design and early development phases to identify risks and quality concerns. The position emphasizes a product and player-first mindset, evaluating features from end-user and business impact perspectives. Close partnership with Product, Engineering, Design, and Art teams is essential to influence quality decisions and ensure alignment with player expectations and business goals.
Additional responsibilities include establishing and analyzing quality metrics and reports (defect leakage, coverage, cycle time, live issues), owning release quality and risk assessment, and driving automation and efficiency initiatives. You will manage and collaborate with external QA partners and maintain strong visibility across stakeholders through proactive communication of progress, risks, and blockers.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of QA experience with 3+ years in QA leadership or people-management roles. Proven ability to build, lead, mentor, and upskill QA teams while driving performance and accountability. Strong experience in team planning, task prioritization, capacity management, and cross-functional coordination. Ability to balance strategic QA leadership with hands-on testing and critical release validation. Strong understanding of modern QA practices including risk-based testing, shift-left testing, and continuous improvement. Product-oriented and player-centric mindset with experience defining and tracking quality metrics. Deep familiarity with Jira, test management systems, and QA reporting tools.
Bonus qualifications include experience in mobile gaming, casual games, or live-service environments; understanding of player behavior and engagement mechanics; prior experience testing casino-style games; experience managing external or offshore QA teams; and exposure to automation frameworks and AI-driven testing approaches.
