Steno operates a nationwide network of court reporters. This role builds the analytics function for Provider Operations from the ground up, creating visibility and insight across the provider funnel, coverage, quality, retention, and rate strategy. You will own the reporting and analysis backbone for Provider Operations, spanning provider sourcing and onboarding, activation, coverage and fill rates, quality tiering, retention, and rate strategy. You'll partner day-to-day with Recruiting, Calendar Operations, and leadership to understand how the business actually runs and translate operational context into actionable analysis. You'll build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports that surface the health of the provider network—where it's working, where it's leaking, and why. Key responsibilities include developing a reporter quality and tiering framework that connects performance data to sourcing, retention, and incentive decisions; building coverage and fill rate forecasting to flag market-level risk before it becomes a miss; analyzing retention and rate strategy to understand what keeps reporters engaged versus what drives attrition; fielding ad hoc analysis requests and prioritizing by business impact; partnering with Product, Engineering, and Data to build proper tools and instrumentation rather than manual patches; and presenting findings and recommendations to leadership while owning adoption. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Director of Provider Operations. Success here means being analytically strong but operationally curious—you dig into why metrics move, what's driving them operationally, and what it means for the team's next decision. Analysis that's technically correct but unusable isn't a win; contextualized, actionable insight is the bar. You'll translate complex analysis into something non-analysts can read, understand, and act on. You're comfortable shipping a useful first version and iterating rather than waiting for perfection. REQUIREMENTS: - 3+ years of experience in analytics, business operations, or related field, ideally within a marketplace, staffing, or operations-heavy environment - Demonstrated ability to build reporting and analysis that directly influenced operational decisions - Proficiency in SQL and modern dashboarding/BI tools - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Experience in operations, marketplace, or high-volume service environments - Ability to prioritize well and focus on questions that matter most - Comfort with ambiguous business questions and translating them into structured analysis
