The Manufacturing Production team is responsible for operating equipment, assembling products, performing quality control checks, and maintaining safe and efficient work environments.
You will join the manufacturing team as a Lead Production Technician supporting Core Tech, working on cutting-edge unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for strategic military and commercial customers. This is a dynamic role requiring both frontline technical skills and team leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Report to the Production Manager and lead a team of production technicians in the production and delivery of UAS through factory acceptance
- Apply advanced knowledge and skills in hardware assembly, troubleshooting, and repair
- Demonstrate competency with hand tools, assembly tooling, and general manufacturing equipment
- Follow documented build instructions with strong reading comprehension
- Ensure all operators follow safety procedures and standard work tasks; improve work area safety and efficiency through regular auditing
- Prioritize work activities for operators to achieve on-time delivery goals; manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Actively participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities; provide feedback on process improvements
- Complete daily transactions in production systems (MES, NetSuite, JIRA, SQL, Tableau)
- Assist in weekly reporting of production progress, blockers, risks, and needs
- Follow escalation paths for floor problems and see them through to completion
- Work on the line, provide training, and support new operator onboarding
- Complete and maintain required certifications
- Build a positive, collaborative team culture promoting product knowledge, skills development, and cross-training
- Maintain regular and predictable work schedule with high urgency and enthusiasm
- Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years experience in production-oriented manufacturing or electro-mechanical technician fields
- Prior experience leading a team (in-kind or directly) in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience working with ERP and MES systems (NetSuite, JIRA, SQL, Tableau)
- Full understanding of product life cycle (NPI to scaled production), LEAN manufacturing principles, and change management (ECOs)
- Ability to interpret technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, building plans, equipment specs, electrical schematics)
- Extremely reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- U.S. Person status required (access to export controlled data)
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, business, or applied science)
- 2+ years in a lead or production operations role
- Prior hands-on experience with kit, model, or experimental builds
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Working knowledge of AS9100 standards and OSHA laws
- A&P certification
- Experience in UAS industries
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance
