Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Product Analyst to support the Content Supply & Understanding team, which owns Scribd's library of over 400 million documents reaching 250+ million monthly active users. You will report to the Senior Manager, Data Analytics and work embedded with Product, Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Analytics Engineering partners.
In this role, you will own analytical workstreams within defined areas, making it possible to confidently answer what is in the corpus, where it falls short of user demand, and whether enrichment efforts are making content easier to find and use. You will build measurement for content understanding, defining how to measure classification and metadata coverage, accuracy, and the effect of enrichment on discovery and engagement. You will own analytics for content supply, generating insights on corpus gaps, sizing the gap between user demand and available content, estimating the value of closing it, and helping prioritize investment using market sizing and ROI methods.
Key responsibilities include: partnering with Product Managers on strategy and roadmap; translating product bets into success and guardrail metrics; designing and reading experiments (A/B tests) for content-related product changes; defining and maintaining KPIs, metric definitions, and dashboards for the content domain; investigating discontinuities and anomalies in content data; using AI-assisted workflows to speed up analysis while validating results; and presenting findings to product, engineering, and executive audiences.
You are at your best when questions are not yet well-formed. You look at incomplete pictures, work out what matters, and produce answers product teams can act on with limits of evidence stated plainly. You are equally comfortable as strategist and analyst—sizing opportunities, modeling returns, writing SQL, and defending numbers in rooms full of leaders. You are skeptical by default, pragmatic, and communicate early and plainly, documenting methodology and metrics as part of deliverables.
The role is open at Senior and Lead levels; leveling will be based on experience brought. At Senior level you own analytical workstreams within a defined area. At Lead level you also set measurement strategy, take on open-ended problems, and raise the bar for analysts around you.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of experience in product analytics or closely related role (Senior level); 7+ years for Lead level
- Record of turning ambiguous, loosely defined questions into analysis that changed decisions, in areas where data is sparse or metrics did not yet exist
- Experience with opportunity sizing, segmentation, business and go-to-market analysis (market sizing, pipeline prioritization, ROI modeling)
- Advanced SQL; experience with Python or R for analysis and statistical work
- Experience with modern data warehouse (Databricks) and BI tools (Looker or Tableau)
- Experience building AI into analytics workflows (LLM-assisted querying, analysis, reporting)
- Working knowledge of experimentation: A/B test design, hypothesis testing, statistical analysis
- Record of defining metrics, defending them under scrutiny, and revising when inputs change
- Experience partnering with Product Managers and Engineers on strategy, roadmap, and measurement
- Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with content-heavy platforms (marketplaces, catalogs, publishing, user-generated content) including supply or content quality analytics
- Experience with classification, taxonomy, metadata systems, search and recommendation, including evaluating ML/LLM outputs
- Experience with experimentation platforms such as Statsig
- For Lead candidates: experience mentoring analysts and setting measurement standards
