Impulse is seeking a Precision Cleaning Engineer to build and lead a new precision cleaning operation supporting the company's growing aerospace manufacturing needs. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for establishing scalable cleaning processes, contamination control standards, and department infrastructure from the ground up.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and leading the Precision Cleaning team, including hiring, training, and competency development
- Developing standardized cleaning processes, work instructions, and SOPs tailored to aerospace-grade hardware
- Creating technical documentation including test plans, equipment specifications, and qualification reports
- Identifying and implementing precision cleaning equipment, tooling, chemicals, and fixtures to support production scaling
- Collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, and Design teams to ensure hardware meets design intent and cleanliness specifications
- Driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives within the cleaning operation
- Establishing a long-term roadmap for department growth, including personnel, equipment, and facility planning
- Working with EHS to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of hands-on experience in precision cleaning, contamination control, or related manufacturing processes, preferably in aerospace, space, defense, semiconductor, or other high-reliability industries. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required. You should have demonstrated expertise developing and implementing precision cleaning processes for aerospace materials and components, with the ability to establish robust, repeatable processes and scale operations alongside production demand.
