Wealthsimple, Canada's leading fintech platform serving 4+ million users with $125B+ in assets under administration, is seeking an experienced Workday Business Systems Analyst to lead the configuration and optimization of its People Systems infrastructure.
You will own the design, configuration, and maintenance of critical HR systems across Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking (PATT) modules within Workday. Your responsibilities include configuring pay components, earnings/deductions, pay groups, and payroll schedules; designing and maintaining absence plans, accrual rules, and leave types; and setting up time entry templates, validations, and overtime calculations. You'll also manage Core HCM foundations including supervisory organizations, staffing models, job profiles, and compensation structures.
Beyond configuration, you'll support annual People cycles (compensation reviews, open enrollment, org restructures), design complex business process definitions with conditional logic and approval routing, and partner with the Payroll team to troubleshoot configuration-driven issues. You'll bring deep expertise in Workday security models—role-based, user-based, and intersection security—and support security audits to maintain segregation of duties and data integrity.
You'll translate business requirements into scalable system design, build trusted relationships across partner teams, and drive change management for system updates. You'll also explore opportunities to leverage AI and automation in People operations, using tools like Anthropic's offerings to strengthen testing, documentation, and ticket triage.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years as a Workday Business Systems Analyst with Pro accreditations or partner certifications in HCM, Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking. You have hands-on expertise in PATT configuration, business process design, and Workday security architecture. You've worked through full-lifecycle implementations or significant module expansions in fast-paced, high-growth environments. You're intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and treat HR data security as non-negotiable. You excel at communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders and managing competing priorities with flexibility and impact.
