Relativity Space is building Terran R, a next-generation fully reusable rocket designed to deliver customer payloads to orbit. The Mechanisms & Integrated Sub-Assemblies Manufacturing team is in the design release and New Product Introduction phase, handling critical assemblies including pneumatic separation and release mechanisms, electromechanical actuators, and integrated propulsion/avionics assemblies.
In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers responsible for building flight-ready mechanisms and integrated sub-assemblies. You'll own a major mechanized assembly or integrated sub-assembly, contributing directly to vehicle development while guiding team execution from design release through production. Your responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional efforts across design, supply chain, and production to execute the build process—covering planning, sourcing strategies, sequencing, material bill of materials development, tooling, equipment, and work order creation.
You will guide workcenter development with strategic focus on long-term goals, safety, capital investment, and tooling, aligning operations with scaling and continuous improvement objectives. Providing hands-on technical leadership, you'll resolve manufacturing challenges, lead root cause analysis, and implement sustainable, efficiency-driven solutions. You'll manage team priorities, offer technical direction, drive execution, and support professional development of team members.
