GitLab is seeking an Internal Events & Production Strategist to design, produce, and deliver internal events that strengthen connection among team members across a fully distributed, global workforce. You'll own GitLab's most visible internal touchpoints, including company-wide assemblies, Company Kick-Off, async-first virtual gatherings, and occasional in-person summits.
In this role, you'll design and lead GitLab's internal events strategy, managing the full event lifecycle from concept development and budgeting through logistics, production, delivery, and post-event analysis. You'll build scalable, accessible, and inclusive event experiences for a globally distributed workforce across all time zones, partnering with Executive Communications, the Executive Group, senior leaders, People Business Partners, and cross-functional teams to align programming with company priorities and engagement goals.
Key responsibilities include managing external vendors, production agencies, and platform partners with a focus on quality and cost-effective delivery; producing high-quality team member stories with agency partners for internal use; defining and tracking event success measures using data and feedback; and exploring event technologies including AI-powered tools, virtual platforms, and hybrid experiences.
You'll bring experience planning and producing large-scale, complex internal events for audiences exceeding 500 people, ideally within distributed or remote-first organizations. Strong project management skills, clear communication abilities, and experience in corporate events, team member experience, or internal communications are essential. You should be comfortable managing multiple high-visibility events while maintaining attention to detail, and have a track record of creating inclusive experiences that resonate across diverse audiences and time zones.
