Divergent 3D is seeking a Global Supply Manager for Capital Projects & Equipment to lead strategic procurement and sourcing initiatives supporting the company's advanced manufacturing, facility expansion, and rapid growth. The role is based in Torrance, California.
You will own the end-to-end commercial strategy for capital equipment and assigned indirect procurement categories, partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, Finance, Legal, and Program Management. Operating with high autonomy, you will develop multi-year category strategies, supplier roadmaps, and sourcing plans for advanced manufacturing equipment, automation, robotics, metrology, motion systems, and industrial controls.
Key responsibilities include:
**Strategic Procurement Leadership**: Develop and execute category strategies and sourcing initiatives. Conduct market analysis, RFx development, supplier evaluation, should-cost analysis, and total cost of ownership modeling. Lead cross-functional sourcing readiness reviews supporting high-visibility programs. Identify supply chain risks early and develop mitigation strategies. Serve as the commercial subject matter expert for assigned categories, advising Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Executive Leadership.
**Supplier Relationship Management**: Build strategic supplier relationships that improve cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and manufacturing scalability. Serve as the primary commercial interface for global suppliers. Partner with Engineering and Quality on supplier qualification and supply chain resilience. Manage long-lead equipment, sole-source suppliers, and technically complex procurement. Lead supplier performance reviews and corrective action initiatives. Develop executive-level supplier relationships supporting long-term agreements and strategic partnerships.
**Cost Management & Commercial Negotiation**: Develop cost models and commercial analyses supporting sourcing decisions and capital investments. Lead value analysis/value engineering initiatives and cost reduction programs. Conduct complex commercial negotiations on capital equipment, construction, and strategic supplier agreements, including pricing, payment terms, tooling ownership, IP, warranties, and service agreements. Monitor supplier cost trends and present balanced recommendations.
**Cross-Functional Leadership**: Align sourcing activities with manufacturing readiness, capital projects, and production schedules. Drive continuous improvement of sourcing processes and category management best practices.
