Melio, a B2B payments platform acquired by Xero, is seeking an FP&A Manager to lead financial planning and analysis for the Partnerships organization. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Partnerships, and financial systems, offering significant exposure to senior leadership and direct influence on commercial and strategic decisions.
You will serve as the primary Finance partner for the Partnerships organization, developing deep understanding of the partner portfolio, pipeline, economics, and strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include:
• Build business cases for new and existing partnerships, evaluating customer acquisition, activation, revenue, margin, retention, investment requirements, and long-term value
• Partner with Partnerships leadership to establish targets, evaluate performance, identify risks and opportunities, and incorporate outlooks into the broader financial forecast
• Own and improve key Anaplan models and planning processes, ensuring financial models are scalable, well-structured, and connected to actual business operations
• Build and own complex models behind strategic initiatives such as new partnerships, market expansion, pricing changes, and product launches
• Connect detailed operational assumptions to long-term plans and understand how changes in business drivers flow through to the P&L
• Identify structural risks and opportunities before they materialize in reported results, challenging assumptions and helping business leaders understand financial implications
• Partner across Partnerships, Product, Sales, Data, R&D, and corporate Finance teams to align financial strategy with operational plans
• Help raise analytical standards of the broader FP&A team by improving modeling practices, planning processes, documentation, and Anaplan usage
The FP&A team plays a strategic role in shaping Melio and Xero's US growth, deeply involved in commercial strategy, partnerships, product decisions, financial modeling, forecasting, and decision-making at the highest levels. Following Melio's acquisition by Xero, responsibilities have expanded significantly to build an integrated view of the US business while supporting a growing portfolio of products, channels, and strategic partnerships.
You'll work in a high-growth fintech environment where your analysis directly influences commercial and strategic decisions, with significant exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Deep FP&A or strategic finance experience, including building and owning complex financial models that connect operational and product-level drivers to the P&L
• Experience partnering directly with Partnerships, Business Development, Sales, or other commercial organizations, with ability to evaluate deal economics, investment decisions, and ongoing partner performance
• Strong understanding of SaaS, fintech, payments, or other businesses with subscription and/or transaction-based revenue models
• Advanced financial modeling skills and ability to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations for senior leadership
• Strong planning systems experience, with ability to understand how business drivers, assumptions, and reporting structures should translate into scalable financial models
• Ability to challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and operate as a strategic thought partner rather than simply reporting results
• Strong executive communication skills and ability to make complex financial concepts understandable to non-financial stakeholders
• Experience reviewing and improving work of other finance professionals and helping establish consistent modeling and analytical standards
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
• Deep hands-on Anaplan experience, including building or maintaining models, improving model architecture, developing reporting, and translating business requirements into scalable planning solutions
• Experience supporting Partnerships, Business Development, or channel organization in fintech, SaaS, or payments environment
• Experience evaluating partnership economics, including acquisition costs, revenue share, pricing, margins, customer activation, retention, and lifetime value
• Experience with Snowflake or working directly with large financial and operational datasets
• Experience through an acquisition or integration, particularly within a larger parent company
• History of introducing new analytical, forecasting, or modeling standards across a finance organization
• Experience preparing materials and analysis for CFO, CEO, or Board-level audiences
