Base Power Company is rebuilding America's electrical grid through distributed battery networks. The Deployment Quality Lead will own and elevate installation quality across Base's operations, leading a team of Deployment Quality Specialists and serving as the connective hub between field operations, deployment engineering, and installation partners.
Key responsibilities include: leading and mentoring the Deployment Quality team through post-install closeout reviews, rework workflows, and partner accountability; building real-time quality dashboards using data visualization tools to track defect trends, SLAs, and rework rates; translating field defects and engineering updates into training materials and SOPs in collaboration with Deployment Engineers; fully owning training delivery and rollout for both in-house crews and third-party contractors; conducting remote audits and root cause analysis to maintain visibility into field execution; identifying recurring failure modes and implementing preventive measures to reduce rework and accelerate closeouts; and continuously refining QA/QC inspection frameworks and quality standards.
The ideal candidate brings 2–4+ years of engineering experience (Industrial, Systems, Mechanical, Quality, Operations, or related), with a strong systems-thinking mindset and ability to analyze workflows and build systematic controls. You should be proficient with data analytics and dashboarding tools, demonstrate emerging leadership potential with high agency and ownership traits, and excel at translating complex requirements into actionable training. Structured problem-solving skills (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, Lean) and exceptional cross-functional communication are essential. This is a hands-on role for someone ready to step into leadership without requiring extensive prior management experience, but with the analytical rigor and operational discipline to drive quality at scale. Base values first-principles thinking, rapid execution, direct feedback, and mission-driven ownership. The role is in-person in Austin and may expand based on business needs.
