Graphcore is building the future of AI compute infrastructure as part of the SoftBank Group. This Lab Support Engineer role is critical to keeping the company's hardware labs and silicon development projects running smoothly.
You will provide day-to-day L1 and L2 technical support to internal teams and external collaborators working in on-premises hardware labs and silicon development environments. Your responsibilities include logging and resolving support requests through both face-to-face interaction and ticketing systems, managing and maintaining Linux-based systems, overseeing a fleet of servers, installing and troubleshooting hardware, and maintaining comprehensive internal documentation and knowledge bases.
Key technical responsibilities involve Linux administration across Debian and RedHat derivatives, networking (VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, routing, subnetting), desktop and server hardware management (BMCs, out-of-band networks, firmware/BIOS upgrades, PDU, rack mounts), and infrastructure-as-code management using tools like Puppet or Ansible.
You'll join a multidisciplinary team of semiconductor, software, and AI experts with a strong technical culture and collaborative environment. The role offers the opportunity to make direct impact on critical AI infrastructure projects during an exciting growth phase for the company.
Desirable skills include experience identifying performance bottlenecks across complex workloads, monitoring solutions (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana), web servers and load balancers (HAProxy, nginx), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and Python programming for API interaction and automation.
