Salary: USD 125,000 - 175,000 / annual
Junction is building the infrastructure layer for diagnostic healthcare, making patient data accessible, actionable, and automated across labs and devices. The Lab Operations Lead will manage a distributed team responsible for ensuring every lab order moves smoothly from order to result—handling kit shipments, lab test execution, and result delivery to providers and patients.
In this role, you'll lead day-to-day operations across lab result review, order investigations, and proactive issue resolution with labs and customers. You'll manage and coach a distributed Lab Operations team, plan capacity and staffing as order volume grows, and ensure SLAs, quality standards, and productivity targets are consistently met. You'll interface with lab vendors, troubleshoot issues, and establish streamlined processes for vendor interaction.
You'll step into complex operational issues when needed, coordinating with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and external lab partners. A significant part of the role involves process improvement—building or refining SOPs, quality standards, and team workflows to make the operation more consistent and scalable. You'll identify recurring operational issues and partner with the Operations Systems & Tooling team on workflow improvements and automation.
Success is measured by SLA attainment, operational quality as order volume grows, reduced escalations requiring senior leadership support, team engagement and retention, and operational improvements that reduce manual work.
You bring 5+ years of experience hiring and managing operations teams through growth, with a track record of coaching people to become more independent and building teams that solve problems without constant escalation. You have operational judgment in exception-heavy environments, experience building or significantly improving SOPs and quality frameworks, and proven success managing distributed teams across time zones. Healthcare or operational experience (diagnostics, logistics, or similar accuracy-critical environments) is preferred. Nice-to-have skills include managing distributed teams based in the Philippines, lab/diagnostics/healthcare logistics experience, and partnering with internal systems teams on automation.
