Heirloom is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee personnel and operations of their laboratory supporting Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology development. This role manages laboratory technicians and research associates while ensuring high analytical throughput, sample and supply organization, safety compliance, team morale, and instrument capability growth.
You will be hands-on in the lab while leading your team to improve analytical capabilities and throughput. Responsibilities include performing routine analyses, supporting characterization studies, improving lab information management systems, and managing external analytical vendor relationships. You will work directly with research and engineering teams to contribute to Heirloom's R&D program.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 3+ years of experience managing a lab with multiple instruments, several direct reports, and a laboratory data management system. You bring passion for laboratory work, commitment to safety, and excitement about science and technology. You thrive in fast-paced startup environments and are energized by leading teams to advance analytical capabilities.
