CesiumAstro is seeking a Lab Manager to lead and grow the engineering laboratory operations in Austin. This role is central to the company's mission of developing cutting-edge communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and aerospace platforms. You will manage all aspects of laboratory operations, including oversight of circuit board assembly, rework, integration, and testing of advanced electronic components—from RF and power semiconductors to high-speed FPGAs. Key responsibilities include: • Leading laboratory team and technicians in hands-on electronics assembly and rework for high-reliability space and defense applications • Managing laboratory equipment, resources, and supplies procurement, bring-up, and calibration • Implementing and enforcing quality processes and controls to meet stringent aerospace standards • Collaborating with Environmental Health and Safety leadership to ensure compliance with internal and external policies • Supporting engineering teams in bringing electronic products to life through rigorous, high-fidelity laboratory work This is a hands-on leadership role in a dynamic startup environment where your work directly impacts the company's success. You will balance technical rigor required for high-reliability space and defense applications with the agility and autonomy of an early-stage company. The role requires both breadth and depth of technical knowledge in electronics, assembly processes, and laboratory management. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or otherwise eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State due to space technology export regulations.
