Mercury, a fintech platform serving startups and technology companies with banking, treasury, and financial workflow solutions, is hiring a Knowledge Management & Training Lead to own the frameworks and governance for how risk operations and BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) partners document, learn, and demonstrate their work as the company scales toward bank readiness.
This dual-discipline role spans knowledge management (establishing the single source of truth for operational procedures) and training (enabling internal and vendor teams to execute effectively). You will design and implement systems for how risk operations documentation is created, versioned, reviewed, and accessed—including through AI-powered tools. You'll set policy, procedure, and documentation standards that allow business risk teams to build RCSAs and controls directly from them, and enable compliance to review regulatory content against consistent formats.
Key responsibilities include: owning the knowledge framework and architecture for the canonical library of risk-operations procedures; setting and governing adoption of documentation standards and templates; managing a vendor-based team of technical content writers; defining enablement and documentation requirements for teams outside your direct reporting line; designing training and certification systems built for BPO delivery; instrumenting the function with metrics on time-to-productivity, certification coverage, and procedure freshness; and building documentation and certification pathways for cross-skilling across risk programs (onboarding, ODD/EDD, AML/sanctions, fraud, disputes).
You will need to set standards so clearly that people adopt them because they're obviously better—this role requires influence without positional authority. You'll work across risk operations, compliance, and vendor management to ensure the enablement backbone scales with Mercury's expanding vendor ecosystem and evolving regulatory needs.
