Salary: USD 160,000 - 190,000 / annual
Kodiak Robotics is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to join its Mountain View headquarters. The company is a leader in autonomous ground transportation, having developed AI-powered technology for commercial trucking and public sector applications. Kodiak made history in 2024 as the first known company to publicly deliver a driverless semi-truck to a customer and is also developing autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.
In this role, you will serve as the technical escalation point for global end users and executives, requiring high technical proficiency combined with executive presence and strong interpersonal skills. You will diagnose and resolve issues across Mac, Linux, and Windows systems, mobile devices, printers, and video conferencing infrastructure. The position blends hands-on support services with infrastructure-as-code collaboration, offering opportunities to automate IT and infrastructure processes while driving continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing onsite and remote technical guidance to engineers and staff
- Supporting end users across Windows, Mac OS, and Ubuntu Linux platforms
- Coordinating issue resolution with operations and engineering teams
- Participating in deployment, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN, WiFi, and cloud network infrastructure
- Testing, documenting, and optimizing network architecture and performance
- Configuring network policies and procedures to ensure security and performance
- Installing, configuring, and monitoring network infrastructure
- Providing feedback, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing for platforms and services

Requirements:
- Knowledge of automation and orchestration tools related to IT infrastructure
- Experience collaborating in an infrastructure-as-code environment
- Proficiency with Git for collaboration
- Working understanding of SSO concepts including SAML, OIDC, and MFA support
- Capability with network diagnostic tools including Wireshark and NMAP
- Understanding of network security design and implementation (firewalls, IDS)
- Experience with LAN/WAN design patterns including WAN media, packet shapers, and WAN accelerators
- Excellent project and time management skills in deadline-driven environments
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to balance strategic projects with day-to-day responsibilities
Bonus qualifications:
- Knowledge of Ansible, Terraform, Grafana, or Prometheus
- Experience with Rancher or Kubernetes
- AWS experience
- MinIO experience
- Okta experience
- Juniper Networks experience (noted as preferred in posting)
