We are seeking an IT Systems Administrator for our Boston, MA office (hybrid, 4 days/week in-office) to manage and maintain our organization's IT infrastructure. This role is crucial to ensuring smooth and efficient operations across our global teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot hardware and software components including servers, workstations, laptops, phones, and networking equipment
- Manage IT audio/visual setup for office global virtual calls, meetings, and all-hands sessions, including Zoom and MS Teams support
- Maintain and update operating systems, applications, and firmware
- Administer network access switches and WiFi infrastructure for end-user network enablement
- Maintain inventory of all equipment (PCs, monitors, laptops, printers, and other components)
- Manage IT setup for onboarding and offboarding of all US employees, both remote and on-site
- Configure and maintain Office 365 ecosystem policies, settings, and packages (OneDrive, MS Teams, SharePoint), Entra ID, SSO, and MFA support
- Assist with implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures to protect against threats and breaches
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities in a timely manner
- Maintain documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures
- Generate reports on system performance, security, and utilization
- Serve as on-site point of contact for managing IT vendors and service providers
- Work closely with global IT professionals including network engineers, database administrators, and cybersecurity experts
- Collaborate on IT projects and initiatives
- Be flexible and adaptable across all time zones with focus on the US
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years' proven experience as an IT Systems Administrator or similar role
- Ability to work in a global team setting; previous global experience is a plus
- Advanced user experience with Windows OS and Apple MacOS (command line, driver and software installation)
- Experience managing A/V equipment for all-hands meetings, board meetings, webinars, etc.
- Hands-on experience with Office 365 administration console and command line experience (PowerShell)
- Experience with Jira Service Management
- Experience administering tools like Zoom, Slack, Dropbox
- Ability to research and make recommendations given technical and non-technical requirements
- Eagerness to collaborate with stakeholders outside IT (HR, Marketing, Product, Sales, G&A, executive leadership)
- Experience facilitating virtual meetings with internal and external stakeholders for executive leadership teams
- Ability to work autonomously and confidently make decisions independently
- Must thrive in fast-paced startup environment
- Positive attitude and extreme flexibility in assisting others
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and be a jack of all trades
