Salary: CAD 70,000 - 90,000 / annual
Xanadu is building quantum computers to solve some of the world's most challenging problems. As an IT Support Specialist, you'll be the first point of contact for IT support requests across the organization, providing high-quality technical support and ensuring smooth IT operations.
You will be responsible for day-to-day troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network issues, delivering prompt and effective solutions to employees. You'll set up and configure servers, laptops, and desktops across Windows, Mac, and Linux environments, including peripherals like monitors, keyboards, and docking stations. You'll assist with user onboarding and offboarding, including account creation and hardware setup, and support audio/visual setups for meetings and presentations.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining and updating IT documentation, performing moves/adds/changes for software and hardware, administering user accounts and permissions, installing and testing new application releases, managing hardware inventory, and monitoring/responding to alerts and minor incidents with escalation as needed. You may be required to participate in on-call rotation and occasional weekend IT-related activities.
This is a new position at a startup focused on quantum computing and AI infrastructure. You'll work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment where wearing multiple hats is expected.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma and/or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 1–5 years of experience in a related IT position
- Strong experience with Linux, macOS, and Windows
- Familiarity with basic networking and cybersecurity concepts and best practices
- Detail-oriented with ability to perform in high-pressure/high-paced environments
- Experience working in an agile delivery environment
- Willingness to be part of on-call rotation and weekend IT-related activities
PREFERRED:
- Knowledge of Python, Bash, or other scripting languages for automation and troubleshooting
- Experience with GitHub and Ansible
- Startup environment experience and comfort with multifaceted responsibilities
