Salary: USD 80,000 - 110,000 / annual
Insurify, a fast-growing MIT-founded fintech startup recognized on the Forbes Fintech 50 and Inc. 5000 lists, is seeking an IT Security Engineer to design and enforce security controls protecting systems, data, and infrastructure while ensuring regulatory compliance. This hybrid role in Cambridge, MA works cross-functionally across the organization on long-term security initiatives as the company scales.
Key responsibilities include configuring and maintaining security infrastructure (SIEM, DLP, anti-malware, intrusion response systems), aligning security controls with regulations like NIST CSF and PCI, and evaluating third-party AI platforms and LLM integrations to prevent unauthorized data access. You will conduct risk assessments and threat/vulnerability analyses, recommend and implement security controls, continuously monitor systems for threats, develop incident response plans, and manage post-incident reviews. The role also involves monitoring evolving threats and industry trends to enhance the security program and assisting the IT team with general access and troubleshooting requests.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, 3+ years of IT security experience, working knowledge of PCI and NIST CSF frameworks, and experience with SIEM, DLP, and vulnerability management. Candidates should have expertise with Mac and Windows environments, enterprise IT, AWS cloud infrastructure, common threats, and core security tools. Understanding of data privacy laws and industry-specific regulations is essential, as is the ability to communicate complex technical risk clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
