The IT Operations Engineer is responsible for provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure with a particular focus on supporting R&D people, processes, and technology. This role participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation across Tanium's R&D and Engineering infrastructure while ensuring hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures are operational, secure, and well maintained.
Key responsibilities include managing cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms; configuring and maintaining network hardware such as Meraki devices; managing common services including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory; and monitoring system health using tools like Nagios, Splunk, CheckMK, and DataDog. The engineer will work closely with R&D teams to understand their technical needs and implement solutions that support innovation while maintaining security and operational excellence.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 2-3 years of relevant IT operations or systems administration work experience, hands-on experience with Meraki network hardware and web interfaces, direct experience working with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), experience managing DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory services, familiarity with monitoring and analytics tools, and a basic understanding of common network technologies and protocols.
