Kepler Communications is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead its IT Operations team, overseeing network administration, systems administration, DevOps, and IT support functions. You will be accountable for the reliable, secure, and scalable operation of the technology environment that supports Kepler's engineers, operators, and mission systems.
This is a player-coach role combining strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution. You will set team priorities and develop staff while remaining actively involved in troubleshooting escalations, designing infrastructure, running incident response, and executing projects. The role requires the ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly—Kepler's environment spans on-premises infrastructure and public cloud with frequent changes. Success depends on rapidly understanding new tools, evaluating technical trade-offs, and credibly supporting specialists who own specific systems.
Expected time allocation: 35% team leadership and operational management, 30% hands-on technical work and escalations, 20% technical strategy and roadmap development, 15% recruiting, onboarding, and administration.
