Legora is an AI-native legal workspace used by 1,000+ customers across 50+ countries, including major law firms like Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, and Linklaters. The company has scaled to $100M+ ARR and operates teams across Europe, North America, and APAC.
As an IT Automation Engineer, you will own Legora's Serval platform and drive automation initiatives across the organization. You'll work closely with the IT Platform & Automation team, Workplace Technology, and Information Security to keep identity, device, and SaaS systems reliable as the company scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning Serval's day-to-day operation, configuration, and integrations; maintaining reliable, documented workflows
- Identifying and delivering automation opportunities independently and collaboratively
- Building workflows and integrations using automation platforms and AI agents for onboarding/offboarding, access provisioning, SaaS administration, and data consistency
- Supporting People Technology with HRIS integrations and automation
- Building AI-enabled services that help employees find information and complete approved actions
- Planning and delivering changes with clear tradeoff analysis (reliability, complexity, cost, UX)
- Testing workflows with automated checks and verifying results across connected systems
- Monitoring outcomes, fixing recurring failures, and troubleshooting using logs, API responses, and generated code
- Measuring impact on manual effort, errors, delays, and control gaps
You'll work with a stack including Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Serval, Lumos, and Fleet for Apple device management. The role is based in Legora's Union Square office in New York, with daily company-provided lunch and a collaborative environment designed for ambitious builders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Practical automation experience: you've identified useful opportunities and built workflows or integrations that others use, and can explain their impact and maintenance
- Comfortable with platforms and AI agents: can translate requirements into instructions, configure integrations, and adjust workflows based on results
- Strong testing discipline: know how to test workflows and verify effects in connected systems using automated checks
- Sound judgment about AI output: can assess accuracy, consistency, and usefulness; know when to escalate for human review
- Technical literacy: understand workflows and data flow through APIs; can read generated code for troubleshooting
- Corporate IT experience: worked with identity, SaaS, or IT systems; understand how account, group, and access changes affect employees
- Comfort with ambiguity: can plan work with unclear requirements, coordinate dependencies, explain tradeoffs, and know when decisions need escalation
- Ownership mindset: comfortable owning a system's day-to-day operation, resolving problems, and helping others use it
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with Serval or similar AI-enabled workflow/service automation platforms
- Experience automating processes using HRIS APIs
- Familiarity with Okta, Lumos, SSO, SCIM, employee lifecycle integrations, or Apple device management
- Experience connecting AI agents to tools and knowledge sources, setting permissions, or evaluating performance
- Experience setting up automated workflow tests, regression checks, or monitoring across applications
