Salary: USD 131,000 - 168,000 / annual
Skydio is seeking an Inventory Control Manager to oversee all inventory management activities within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring accurate inventory levels, compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, FAA), and efficient material flow to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing inventory control policies and procedures aligned with aerospace industry standards; monitoring and managing raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory; leading cycle counting programs and physical inventories; investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies; and collaborating with procurement, production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure material availability and traceability.
You will ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements including lot traceability, serialization, and documentation; optimize warehouse layout and material handling processes; analyze and develop inventory metrics (turns, accuracy, shortages, excess/obsolete stock); implement and manage ERP/MRP systems for real-time visibility; manage and mentor inventory control staff; support internal, customer, and regulatory audits; and partner with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain on close activities.
The role directly enables production continuity, ensures on-time delivery of high-value aerospace components, safeguards adherence to strict aerospace standards, reduces excess and obsolete inventory, provides accurate data for decision-making, and identifies discrepancies that could impact customers or contracts. You will act as a key bridge between supply chain, production, quality, warehousing, and engineering teams.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience); 5–10+ years of inventory, warehouse, or supply chain experience in manufacturing, preferably aerospace or defense; strong knowledge of inventory control practices and MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar); experience with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001) and traceability requirements; proven leadership experience managing teams; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Excel and reporting dashboards.
Preferred qualifications include SOX compliance and COSO framework familiarity, APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP), lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience, and familiarity with FAA, ITAR, or export compliance regulations. Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days is strongly encouraged.
