Maintain accurate quantities, storage locations, lot/serial information, and traceability in the ERP system. Ensure all transactions are recorded at the time they occur. Coordinate physical inventories and financial audits with complete documentation.
**Material Flow & Production Support:** Ensure production work orders are kitted accurately and on time, with early escalation of shortages. Develop clear processes for point-of-use inventory, staging areas, nonconforming material, and obsolete stock. Maintain organized, labeled, secure inventory areas using 5S and visual-management practices. Partner with Planning and Purchasing to improve material availability and reduce expedites and stockouts. Coordinate material movement between buildings and departments while maintaining traceability.
**Incoming Inspection & Material Acceptance:** Ensure every incoming part is inspected and documented before release to inventory or production. Verify part numbers, revisions, quantities, packaging, and condition against purchase orders and drawings. Confirm required certifications and supplier documentation are present and traceable. Check critical dimensions and features using calibrated equipment. Maintain lot and serial-number traceability. Segregate and control nonconforming material; coordinate supplier corrective action with Quality and Purchasing.
**Systems, Procedures & Reporting:** Serve as business owner for inventory-control procedures and ERP discipline. Create standard work, work instructions, training materials, and controlled forms. Monitor inventory dashboards and report performance, discrepancies, aging, and corrective actions. Identify system and process weaknesses; lead improvements with Finance, IT, Quality, and Operations. Protect data integrity by limiting uncontrolled locations and unsupported workarounds.
**Leadership & Accountability:** Lead, train, schedule, and develop inventory-control personnel. Set clear daily priorities and verify completion. Establish performance expectations and address issues promptly. Build cross-training and qualified backups for critical functions. Promote a professional, service-oriented culture. Communicate risks early and present facts clearly to leadership.
