Mainspring Energy manufactures fuel-flexible, low-emissions local power solutions (Linear Generators) for Fortune 500 companies, data centers, and utilities. The company has shipped hundreds of megawatts in advanced development and field operations, partnering with major energy leaders like AEP, NextEra Energy Resources, and Schneider Electric.
The Interconnection Strategy Lead will build Mainspring's utility and interconnection strategy capability to support larger, more complex projects and customers. This role bridges project execution, utility strategy, transmission-scale readiness, internal workflow design, and requirements intelligence to enable the company to scale beyond one-off projects and manual coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting larger customer segments such as data centers, utilities, and enterprise accounts
- Helping the organization prepare for utility-scale, transmission-adjacent, and geographically diverse deployments
- Strategic review and planning for interconnection across North America
- Translating utility, market, interconnection, and regulatory complexity into repeatable business processes
- Developing customer-ready guidance and scalable internal systems
- Creating programmatic capability that supports larger sites, more sophisticated customers, and increasing process complexity
The role is critical to Mainspring's growth trajectory, establishing interconnection strategy as a core organizational competency rather than a project-by-project function. Success requires deep understanding of utility interconnection processes, regulatory frameworks, and ability to systematize complex workflows across geographies and customer types.
