Salary: USD 90,000 - 120,000 / annual

Ethos Life is a life insurance technology company transforming how life insurance is bought, sold, and underwritten through a three-sided platform serving consumers, agents, and carriers. The company offers instant, accessible products with no medical exams required. As an Insurance Case Manager, you will own and actively manage a portfolio of pending or stalled life insurance applications, with initial focus on Indexed Universal Life (IUL) products. This role goes beyond traditional case processing—you'll diagnose root causes of individual cases while identifying systemic patterns across the full pending book to recommend process improvements. Key responsibilities include: - Managing a portfolio of pending applications and investigating why they're stuck - Developing deep understanding of the application-to-issue lifecycle to identify blockers - Independently investigating complex cases and determining root causes - Working cross-functionally with underwriting, new business, policy administration, sales, and carrier teams to resolve issues - Leading recurring calls with carrier partners on pending case status, aging, and resolution plans - Maintaining accurate case status and documentation in Salesforce and internal systems - Using Salesforce, Mode, Hex, and similar tools to research cases and analyze trends - Building and maintaining reporting on pending inventory, aging, case stage, blockers, and outcomes - Identifying systemic trends rather than treating cases in isolation - Partnering with operations, product, and systems teams on workflow gaps and process limitations - Recommending and implementing process improvements based on recurring failure points You'll need significant experience in life insurance new business, case management, underwriting support, or policy administration with strong knowledge of life insurance products and the application-to-issue lifecycle. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize by urgency and impact, and drive resolution with minimal oversight is essential. Direct experience partnering with carrier underwriting or new business teams is required. Strong analytical skills to identify patterns across portfolios, excellent written and verbal communication, and comfort in fast-paced environments are critical. Salesforce experience is strongly preferred; experience with Mode, Hex, SQL, or similar analytics tools is a significant plus. IUL product experience is a plus.
