FlixBus is seeking an Infrastructure Strategy Manager to lead the development and long-term security of critical infrastructure for FlixTrain, their rail transport division operating across Germany and Europe. In this role, you will work with a dedicated team to design strategies for building and maintaining maintenance depots, storage facilities, and service stations that ensure reliable, punctual, and scalable rail operations.
Key responsibilities include: developing infrastructure strategies in collaboration with your team; independently planning and executing infrastructure projects while managing external partnerships; designing maintenance depots and service facilities that support dependable train operations; collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders to create innovative solutions that balance cost-effectiveness with high availability; and rapidly assimilating new topics, critically evaluating concepts and reports, then translating findings into strategic recommendations.
You will operate at the intersection of internal teams and external partners, driving complex projects to successful completion while shaping the future of FlixTrain's infrastructure. The role requires strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and stakeholder management across a dynamic, international environment.
Required qualifications: completed degree in fields such as industrial engineering, business administration, civil engineering, transportation, or equivalent; several years of professional experience in strategy consulting, project management, startup environments, or similar strategic project execution; analytical mindset with structured, solution-oriented work approach; strong communication and negotiation skills; and fluent German and English (both C1 level minimum).
