Salary: USD 113,000 - 149,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to help shape classified, closed, and air-gapped environments for deploying Anduril products and software. The role combines expertise in information technology, security, and government accreditation processes to balance business needs, product velocity, and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Documenting security controls to meet cybersecurity framework requirements and NIST 800-53 standards
- Performing iterative security functions to deliver results in classified environments
- Applying commercial technology standards in air-gapped systems
- Assisting the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and team in understanding stakeholder needs and providing technical solutions
- Tailoring NIST controls for network environments and overseeing continuous monitoring
- Defining, documenting, and conducting security scanning on Anduril products and accredited systems
- Scoping and orchestrating feature development to ensure compliance goals
- Designing and implementing secure systems per NIST RMF, JSIG, and industry standards
- Conducting security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and audits
- Recommending security solutions including IDS/IPS, encryption protocols, and secure communications
- Developing access controls, encryption strategies, and technical safeguards
- Maintaining System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and accreditation documentation
- Participating in Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) processes to obtain/maintain Authority to Operate (ATO)
- Leading or assisting incident response efforts including investigation and root cause analysis
- Conducting regular audits and risk assessments for compliance and resilience
- Collaborating with government security officials and stakeholders
Required qualifications include active U.S. Top Secret security clearance, expertise in NIST RMF and government accreditation processes, and demonstrated experience with security risk assessments and compliance frameworks. Preferred qualifications include experience with Splunk, DISA STIGs, SCC tools, programming languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash), and Linux/Red Hat operating systems.
