Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products to major customers including Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The company is a registered and listed financial institution headquartered in Amsterdam.
You will join the Group Finance team as a Tax Accountant, working within the centralized Finance Operations team in Amsterdam. Your primary focus will be ensuring accurate general ledger accounting of direct and indirect taxes while supporting the company's continued business growth in a scalable, controlled, and compliant manner.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and owning the general ledger for direct and indirect taxes
- Completing monthly accruals, tax journal postings, and reconciliations
- Collaborating with Financial Controlling, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Tax teams
- Assisting in the preparation and review of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and VAT filings
- Providing hands-on support for tax provisioning and effective tax rate (ETR) calculations
- Supporting internal and external audits and liaising with tax specialists
- Ensuring correct tax coding for invoice processing
- Driving process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives
You will work in the financial engine room of a listed financial institution, with exposure to topics that extend beyond traditional tax accounting. The role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact during Adyen's rapid growth phase.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in tax and/or general ledger accounting
- Experience with regional tax accounting
- Experience with Workday financial systems (preferred)
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and teams
- Detail-oriented with analytical and automation mindset
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Proactive, independent work style with willingness to seek help when needed
- Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement
- Critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
- Ability to question the status quo and implement scalable solutions
