Northwood Space is a modern space infrastructure company building a global network of phased array ground stations that enable real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions supporting national security, global connectivity, and disaster response. As the organization's first dedicated Indirect Commodity Manager, you will develop and execute global sourcing strategies across a broad portfolio of indirect spend categories supporting manufacturing and business operations. This is a strategic leadership role establishing sourcing strategies, supplier partnerships, and procurement processes that drive value across global sites.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing global sourcing and category strategies for services, indirect materials, capital equipment, facilities, construction, and real estate-related agreements. You will lead strategic sourcing initiatives from market assessment and supplier selection through contract negotiation and implementation, ensuring optimal cost, quality, service, and risk outcomes. You'll negotiate complex commercial agreements, pricing, terms, and long-term supplier contracts in partnership with Legal.
You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Facilities, Finance, and other business leaders to support capital projects, operational needs, and strategic initiatives across global sites. Building and managing strategic supplier relationships through performance management, business reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and risk mitigation is essential. You'll analyze spend, supplier performance, and market intelligence to identify cost savings opportunities, supplier optimization, process improvements, and total cost of ownership reductions.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field, plus 5–8+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or commodity management experience. You must have demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial agreements and managing indirect procurement categories. Preferred qualifications include experience sourcing construction projects, CapEx, facilities services, or real estate agreements; supporting manufacturing or industrial operations; knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar); and professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or CIPS.
