Wise is a global fintech company focused on international money movement and payments. As an Incident Operations Engineer Lead, you will be the central coordination hub for Wise's incident management processes, supporting the day-to-day execution of how the company handles service disruptions.
Your primary responsibilities include incident facilitation—opening communication channels, ensuring on-call engineers are available, and documenting incidents in real time. You'll support post-incident administration by helping organize post-mortem meetings and tracking action items through completion. You'll also assist with problem management, following up on recurring issues to ensure engineering teams are making progress on long-term fixes.
On the process and documentation side, you'll maintain accurate incident records for regulatory and compliance purposes, help keep internal runbooks and how-to guides current as systems evolve, and learn to use and support incident response tools like Rootly, Jira, and Slack.
You'll also handle data and reporting—pulling incident metrics for weekly or monthly reports to identify trends in service reliability, and drafting clear status updates to keep stakeholders informed during and after incidents.
Technically, you should have exposure to or willingness to quickly learn DevOps/SRE tooling, monitoring systems, and ticketing platforms. Basic troubleshooting skills are important—the ability to follow technical instructions, check logs, and verify service status during incidents.
This role is ideal for someone eager to learn how a global fintech manages service disruptions at scale, with the opportunity to grow into a leadership position within incident management operations.
