The Merchant Services team partners with clients to maximize adoption of Airwallex products and drive their growth. The team influences revenue across the product portfolio and collaborates with sales, strategy, product, and engineering to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Team members serve as technical points of contact and trusted advisors throughout pre-sales, solution design, and API integration stages.
As Implementation Manager, you will own end-to-end delivery of complex client integrations for enterprise partners, shopping carts, and payment gateways. You will translate business requirements and solution designs into actionable project plans, orchestrating cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to deliver on time, on scope, and to high quality standards. You will sit at the intersection of Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, and Operations.
Key responsibilities include: translating business requirements into comprehensive delivery plans and execution strategies; owning overall project management for client integrations including communication, risk management, and workstream orchestration; leading delivery in collaboration with integration engineers and technical stakeholders; driving core project teams across sales and delivery lifecycle phases; coordinating cross-functional approvals from legal, compliance, privacy, risk, operations, finance, and product teams; partnering with product and engineering to prioritize solution requirements; aligning partner milestones with product roadmaps; applying professional services methodologies and disciplined project management practices; and tracking metrics such as time-to-go-live and launch quality while driving continuous improvement.
The role is based in San Francisco with 3 days in office.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Product Delivery Management or Project Management, managing complex, multi-stakeholder technology or financial services implementations
- 5+ years of professional services or client-facing delivery experience in a high-paced environment (consulting, systems integration, or enterprise implementation)
- Demonstrated experience with global payment products or technology-led business solutions, with ability to translate product capabilities into practical integration plans
- Proven track record of successfully delivering cross-functional projects with diverse stakeholders including C-level executives, technical teams, and operations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including ability to lead steering meetings, write clear status updates, and influence decisions without direct authority
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience delivering large-scale partner integrations in fintech, payments, or regulated industries (card schemes, payment gateways, global acquiring, embedded finance)
- Hands-on experience working with integration engineers, solution architects, or technical program managers on API-based integrations
- Formal project management or agile delivery training/certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master)
- Experience managing enterprise or strategic accounts as part of broader account teams
- Ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, balancing structured methodologies with pragmatic decision-making
