Benchling is an AI platform for biotech R&D used by over 200,000 scientists globally, including major biopharma companies like Sanofi and Moderna. The company is building a world-class Professional Services team to drive implementations for its rapidly expanding customer base.
As an Implementation Manager, you will lead customer implementations from kickoff through go-live, working with research scientists at customers ranging from biotech startups to the world's largest biopharmas. You will leverage scientific expertise, project management skills, and deep product knowledge to ensure successful platform rollouts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing initial rollouts for new customers and expansion projects with existing customers
- Owning implementation success end-to-end, from requirements analysis and solution design through configuration, testing, training, and user onboarding
- Building and executing detailed project plans, coordinating with cross-functional Benchling teams to deliver on-time, on-budget, high-quality deployments
- Understanding customers' scientific workflows and determining how Benchling best addresses their business needs
- Leading requirements and design workshops, performing data modeling and application configuration, developing test plans, and guiding user acceptance testing
- Acting as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through implementation and ensuring they apply Benchling best practices
- Documenting customer pain points and advocating internally to influence product improvements
- Developing and optimizing enterprise training programs with written and video materials
- Identifying expansion opportunities and collaborating with sales on account growth post-launch
You must have a degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Immunology, Bioinformatics, Biological Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred), plus at least 2 years of lab or research experience. Strong communication skills are essential—you'll interact with scientists, IT leads, and executives. You should be a self-starter comfortable in a startup environment, curious, creative, and tenacious. Travel up to 25% is required based on customer and project needs.
Bonus qualifications include experience using Benchling (especially as an administrator) and prior SaaS software implementation experience.
