Papaya Global is a B2B SaaS unicorn transforming global payroll and workforce management. The Implementation Consultant role is part of the Client Services team, serving as the primary point of contact guiding clients through implementation projects across 160+ countries.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the complete client onboarding lifecycle—from initial consultation through software configuration, data migration, and system testing. You will develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure implementations stay on track. Working directly with key stakeholders, you'll gather requirements, understand payroll needs, and tailor solutions accordingly. Clear communication and regular updates to clients throughout the implementation process are essential.
You'll identify and proactively mitigate project risks, collaborate with internal teams (Product Development, Account Management, Support) to resolve implementation issues, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvements. The role includes gathering client feedback to drive product improvements and refine implementation approaches, identifying gaps in the implementation lifecycle, and proposing new strategies or tools to enhance service delivery.
Compliance and documentation are critical: you'll ensure all implementations meet local, regional, and international payroll regulations, maintain comprehensive project documentation, and facilitate handovers to Account Management and Customer Ops teams.
Required qualifications include a minimum of 5 years in payroll software implementation with strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and best practices across domestic and international contexts. Technical expertise in payroll software platforms, HRIS/ERP systems, data migration, system integration, and software configuration is essential. You should be comfortable troubleshooting technical issues and collaborating with IT or product teams. Proven hands-on experience applying AI tools in implementation workflows—beyond basic usage—is required, including data migration validation, project tracking, client communication, reporting automation, and delivery optimization.
Strong project management skills are needed, including experience managing multiple simultaneous implementations, developing detailed project plans, and familiarity with tools like JIRA, Asana, or MS Project. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong client-facing abilities and the capacity to manage expectations and build long-term relationships, are essential.
