Salary: USD 90,000 - 101,000 / annual
Terran Orbital, a leading manufacturer of satellite products for aerospace and defense, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Operations Partner to join their dynamic team in Irvine, CA. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, you will be responsible for aligning People goals and objectives with employees and management at the site location, while formulating partnerships across the HR function to develop and deliver on service needs.
You will serve as a trusted employee advocate, building strong collaborative relationships across all organizational levels. Key responsibilities include providing day-to-day HR operational support, managing the pre-board new hire process and leading orientation, ensuring data accuracy throughout the employee lifecycle, and backing up bi-weekly payroll processing. You will actively participate in driving employee engagement and culture initiatives with emphasis on Diversity & Inclusion strategies, help resolve employee concerns, and serve as a conduit for HR information to employees.
You will work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Additional responsibilities include analyzing trends and metrics to develop solutions and programs, assisting with annual HR programs (objective setting, performance evaluations, compensation planning, talent assessment, succession planning), and serving as a key partner with the People Experience and Operations team on processes and documentation. This role requires maintaining an effective level of People literacy to provide consultative HR services and leverage HR skills to influence leadership decision-making.
The position operates in a professional office environment within a manufacturing company setting. You will routinely use standard office equipment and may be required to sit or stand for extended periods, with substantial computer usage.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, OR HR certificate with 3+ years of experience
- 5+ years of experience in human resources
- Creative problem-solving and ability to develop unique approaches to HR challenges
- Authentic thought partnership with confidence and courage to push boundaries in changing environments
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proven consulting and change management experience
- Demonstrated experience shaping culture and employee engagement initiatives
- Proven knowledge of HR industry practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner within diverse organizations
- Proven ability to manage conflict and challenge organizational thinking
- Prior experience supporting Engineering and Manufacturing industries (preferred)
- Proficiency with Human Resource Information Systems, preferably Paychex
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from U.S. Department of State to comply with space technology export regulations
- May require current United States National Security clearance or eligibility for such clearance
