Encord is hiring Human Data Program Managers to lead end-to-end execution of high-stakes AI data projects for frontier AI labs and physical AI companies. You will translate complex machine learning requirements into annotation workflows, manage distributed annotation teams across multiple time zones, and own delivery against throughput, quality, and timeline targets.
Key responsibilities include: designing annotation processes that produce the data models actually need; becoming the expert on project annotation standards and resolving edge cases; training and coaching annotators to improve performance; measuring annotator performance and making staffing decisions; managing task allocation and queues to balance quality and throughput; instrumenting projects with measurable acceptance criteria and sampling plans; producing customer delivery reports and surfacing risks early; and partnering with Product and Engineering on process improvements.
This is a hands-on, load-bearing role where you will work at the intersection of ML requirements and annotation execution. You will run multiple projects simultaneously, each in specialist domains such as medical imaging and robotics, where technical complexity is highest and mistakes are expensive.
Required experience: 3–7 years combining operational delivery with analytical work (AI data/annotation operations, strategy consulting, or data/ops roles at leading tech companies); demonstrated end-to-end ownership of complex multi-stakeholder workflows; working proficiency in Python or SQL; direct experience managing and performance-managing distributed teams; track record of holding quality and throughput simultaneously; ability to translate detailed technical specifications into executable instructions. Bonus: direct annotation, evaluation, or model-training workflow experience.
Encord is backed by $60M Series C funding from Wellington Management, CRV, Next47, and Y Combinator, serving 300+ AI teams including Woven by Toyota, AXA, UiPath, and Zipline. The team of 100+ works from the London office 4+ days/week with strong in-person culture.
