Salary: USD 95,000 - 115,000 / annual

You will join the Power Operations Team as an HSE Specialist based at Crusoe's data center power plant in Abilene, TX, with potential travel to additional locations. This is a full-time role where you will champion safety across power operations and be an integral member of a critical infrastructure team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Power Operations Team to understand operational risks and develop concrete action plans to address them
- Cultivate HSE awareness and a strong safety culture through consistent communications, targeted training, and active involvement in HSE programs
- Conduct thorough risk assessments of worker exposure and provide actionable recommendations to enhance safety
- Develop and implement HSE processes, procedures, work instructions, and checklists
- Monitor compliance with all relevant regulations, internal policies, and established procedures; regularly report on HSE objectives and metrics
- Liaise with contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies regarding HSE issues
- Plan and assist with compliance audits and assessments
- Facilitate incident investigations and lead root cause analysis efforts
- Monitor and follow up on corrective actions, reports, and audit findings
- Coordinate HSE training for all personnel
- Maintain awareness of new HSE requirements and integrate them into existing systems
- Ensure HSE documentation is meticulously maintained and readily available
- Provide HSE support to other operational groups and projects as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience, with strong preference for backgrounds in Oil and Gas, Plants, Refineries, Power Generation, or other heavy industrial operations
- Deep technical knowledge of HSE rules and regulations at Federal and State levels
- Proven direct experience implementing HSE rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in an operational environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction across all organizational levels and with external stakeholders
- Proficient computer skills for documentation, reporting, and HSE management systems
- Must be able to legally work and reside in the US without requiring sponsorship
- This is a safety-sensitive position; drug and alcohol program participation is required
Bonus Qualifications:
- University degree in a related field (Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering)
- Specific expertise in rotating equipment safety, electrical safety (NFPA 70E), or process safety management (PSM)
- Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), or OHST (Occupational Health and Safety Technologist)
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth company environment
- Proven ability to drive cultural change related to safety
