Salary: USD 180,000 - 250,000 / annual
HealthLeap is an AI operating system that helps hospital care teams identify missed patients who need intervention, improving health outcomes and generating significant value. The company is ~25 people, has raised >$32M, and is live at 40+ hospitals with contracted revenue growing 13x year-over-year.
As Head of Technical Implementation, you will own hospital deployments end-to-end, from initial requirements conversations through go-live and stabilization. You'll manage multiple concurrent hospital deployments, working directly with clinical leaders, IT teams, and executives alongside engineers. You'll start as a senior individual contributor and build out the implementation team as the company scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading several hospital deployments simultaneously, setting deployment plans, clarifying ownership and decision-making, managing dependencies, and maintaining visibility on dates and risks
- Working with clinicians and hospital teams to understand workflows, translate ambiguous requests into clear requirements and acceptance criteria
- Independently testing endpoints, inspecting data feeds, API responses, and SQL extracts to verify delivered behavior against specifications and clinical needs
- Collaborating with engineers on product and integration gaps, bringing specific evidence and tradeoffs, keeping hospitals informed
- Leading go-live readiness activities, resolving launch issues, verifying downstream results, and supporting stabilization
- Documenting lessons learned from each deployment into playbooks, processes, and product requirements to improve future launches
The role requires hands-on technical judgment—you'll write SQL, read API documentation, trace data flows, and verify behavior yourself rather than delegating all technical validation to engineers. You'll work in a startup environment with incomplete information and evolving processes, building the implementation framework that doesn't yet exist.
Interview process: intro call, deployment scenario discussion, technical exercise analyzing a hospital data feed, and onsite with the team in San Francisco. Hiring decision made the same week as onsite.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years leading complex, customer-facing software implementations or technical product delivery, including launches involving multiple teams on the customer side
- Exceptional project management: ability to run concurrent work, surface risks early, drive decisions, and follow through without external chasing
- Exceptional communication across technical analysts, clinicians, and executives
- Hands-on technical capability: write SQL, read API documentation and sample payloads, trace data flows, verify delivered behavior independently
- Experience turning ambiguous customer needs into working first implementations
STRONG DIFFERENTIATORS:
- Experience leading implementations involving Epic, Cerner, or other EHR systems, or working inside a hospital EHR environment
- Delivered integrations involving HL7, FHIR, or other clinical data exchange standards
- Built implementation processes that improved reliability of subsequent launches
