Vital Bio seeks an experienced Head of Supply Chain to build and lead end-to-end supply chain operations for a mission-driven medical device or diagnostics company. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role reporting to senior management, responsible for establishing scalable supply chain infrastructure from the ground up. Key responsibilities include developing and executing supply chain strategy aligned with product development, growth, and operational excellence objectives. You will oversee supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and performance management across new product introductions (NPI) and ongoing production. You'll establish master data systems (e.g., MISys) to support design transfer and manufacturing scaling, and lead prototype procurement and assembly in collaboration with engineering teams. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance, with accountability for achieving cost-of-goods targets through strategic sourcing and inventory optimization. Responsibilities span demand planning, production scheduling, capacity planning, warehousing, inbound/outbound logistics, and inventory management. You'll ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO 13485, GMP) and audit readiness through rigorous documentation and change control management. As a key cross-functional partner, you will mentor and develop supply chain team members, collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, and commercial teams, and build strong supplier relationships with performance evaluation and issue resolution. Required: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or related field; 10+ years progressive supply chain experience in medical devices, diagnostics, or high-tech manufacturing; demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, supplier/inventory management, planning, logistics, and NPI in regulated environments; strong ERP/MRP systems knowledge (MISys or similar); excellent negotiation and analytical skills; proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive process improvements; strong communication and interpersonal skills; experience with regulatory compliance and audit preparedness; ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Bonus: NPI and design transfer experience in medical devices; CDMO and outsourced manufacturing management; ERP system selection and implementation; Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies; advanced analytics and KPI dashboards; global supply chain and third-party logistics experience.
