Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate to deploy autonomous systems at scale. As Head of Supply Chain, you will build the operational backbone for Atoms' vehicle hardware readiness as the company scales from prototype retrofit operations to industrial-scale autonomous vehicle fleet deployment. This is a foundational role that owns end-to-end supply chain operations: procurement, supplier management, logistics, inventory control, VIN-specific kitting, warranty/RMA processes, and complete traceability from supplier PO through deployed vehicle. Key responsibilities include: - Own procurement for sensors, compute, storage, harnesses, racks, brackets, power components, spare parts, and consumables - Build supply plans aligned with monthly vehicle ramp targets - Negotiate supplier pricing, lead times, warranty terms, MSAs, and volume commitments - Implement VIN-specific kitting to ensure every vehicle enters retrofit with a complete, pre-verified kit - Build serialized inventory tracking across the full supply chain: supplier PO → lot → serial number → VIN → installer → calibration result → warranty/RMA history - Manage inbound logistics, supplier delivery performance, inter-city shipments, and finished-vehicle logistics - Own warranty/RMA processes, defective-part quarantine, supplier scorecards, and recovery plans - Partner with Hardware Ops and QA to identify batch defects, part failures, and line-stopper issues - Implement lightweight ERP and asset tracking systems before spreadsheets break at scale You will need 8–12+ years in supply chain, procurement, logistics, hardware operations, automotive, robotics, electronics, fleet, or manufacturing. Required experience includes managing complex hardware BOMs and serialized inventory, vendor negotiation and supplier management, and building inventory, kitting, warehouse, or asset-control systems from scratch. You should be comfortable in a fast-moving, high-growth startup environment and have strong cross-functional execution skills with engineering, production, QA, finance, and field ops teams. This is not a back-office procurement role. You will build the operating backbone for one of the fastest autonomous vehicle fleet buildouts in the market, turning complex AV hardware into a scalable, traceable, production-ready system. The role is based in San Francisco with five-day-per-week onsite work.
