Yardstik is a B2B SaaS startup focused on background screening, certification, and training for the Internet Economy. They're seeking a Head of Security and Infrastructure to join the Technology Organization's leadership team. In this role, you'll own security and infrastructure strategy across the company, reporting to technology leadership. Key responsibilities include: leading product and corporate security initiatives; managing DevOps, Site Reliability, and Infrastructure functions; owning IT operations for core business systems; maintaining vendor relationships and technology spend; partnering with the General Counsel on certifications, accreditations, and attestations (SOC 2, etc.); enabling the software engineering team's build, test, and deployment processes; and instrumenting systems for observability. You'll balance hands-on technical work with strategic leadership as the company grows. This includes direct engagement with the Technology org leadership, Principal Engineers, General Counsel, Go-To-Market teams, and CFO organization. A key emerging responsibility is securely incorporating AI-powered tools across departments. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in SaaS B2B enterprise software, with deep expertise in cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP), web security (WAF, CDN), advanced monitoring tools, incident response, and maintaining compliance certifications. Experience with on-call processes and mean-time-to-recovery optimization is important. You should be comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small, high-growth team and articulating business cases for infrastructure investments. Yardstik has been named a Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal Best Place to Work for six consecutive years and was recognized by Newsweek as one of America's Greatest Startup Workplaces. The company offers health insurance, 401(k), HSA, and a liberal vacation policy. Note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
