As Head of Risk Operations, you will lead a global, distributed team responsible for Acquiring, Issuing, and Credit Risk domains. This is a strategic leadership role focused on defining procedures and delivering operational excellence across new client onboarding, periodic review, and in-life behavior monitoring. Key responsibilities include: owning the vision, strategy, and execution for Risk Operations; building and developing a high-performing globally distributed team; designing location and resourcing strategy to achieve 24/7 coverage while optimizing quality and cost; establishing repeatable operating rhythms with clear OKRs; implementing data-driven performance management; balancing risk, customer experience, and commercial impact; driving continuous improvement in procedures, playbooks, and control frameworks aligned with financial crime and fraud policies; ensuring documentation quality and consistency; and leading AI transformation initiatives within the team. You will operate at the intersection of Operations, Product, and Risk, driving cross-functional outcomes and partnering closely with 2LOD, Commercial teams, Risk Product, and Engineering. The role requires strong commercial and analytical judgment, comfort with unit economics and ROI framing, and demonstrated ability to scale operations across multiple geographies and jurisdictions. Ideal candidates bring proven senior leadership experience in large-scale, multi-jurisdiction operations within regulated financial services or fintech; track record scaling Risk Operations across payments, issuing, and credit domains; expertise in Fraud Ops and ATO risk control; background in automation and AI-led transformation; and proficiency with data analytics tools including SQL and BI platforms. Experience with cross-border payments, multi-entity environments, API-first products, IPO readiness, and top-tier consulting or operator-investor backgrounds are valued.
